Tom Middleton Wins AM Event 5 $1,100 NLH 6 Max

English poker pro Tom Middleton has won Event 5 at this year's Aussie Millions, the $1,100 NLH 6-Max event taking home $84,200 for his 1st place finish. Middleton is no stranger to final tables having a total career earnings of over $500,000 since 2008. 2011 was the breakout year for Middleton which saw him cash for $355,402, however if he continues his metaphoric rise to the top of the leader boards, this year could certainly eclipse that in earnings.

Middleton's victory came at the expense of Sydney local pro Joel Dodds who had to be content with 2nd place and a $58,135 pay day. Dodds was looming to take down the title and the Gold Championship ring, however the Englishmans performance was nothing short of extraordinary. At the final 6 handed table, Middleton eliminated four of the 5 players he was facing, a truly epic steamroller effort.

Aaron Lim has won Event 4 of the Aussie Millions Series, the $1,100 buy-in NLH/PLO. Event 4 featured a unique format combining the two most popular foams of poker, No Limit Holdem with Pot Limit Omaha. The event attracted 158 entrants creating a prize pool of $158,000.

Aaron has experienced minor success in the past having reached the final table of the 2011 ANZPT Perth main event where he took down 4th place and $38,000 prize money, however yesterday's win represents his fist major win in tournament poker.

Heading into the final table, all eyes were on Slovenian/American Casey Kastle. Kastle was easily the most accomplished tournament player at the final table, and is the All Time Money earner in Slovenia having cashed for $1,639,627 in his illustrious career as a poker player. Unfortunately for Kastle he would be eliminated in 7th position for a cash of $7,110.
