Pokerstars APPT Cebu Announced

The Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) have just announced some exciting news for poker enthusiasts in the Asia Pacific region. The most popular stop on the season, the APPT Cebu will return once again in 2012 at the incredible Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu.

While things in Macau may be coming to a close for poker, the rest of the Asia Pacific region is certainly heating up. Season 5 of the APPT promises to be one of the biggest and best to date, with 5 scheduled stops including Melbourne's Crown casino, Queenstown, Soul, Macau and now Cebu.

The APPT Cebu event is scheduled to take place from April 25-30 and features a Main Event with a PHP 100,000 (Approximately $2,200 AUD) as well as a series of other events for those unlucky enough out in the main.

In 2010 Korean female player Young shin Im became the first female to win an APPT championship event after she bested 236 other players and won PHP 5.81M ($127,783 AUD) . Following her landmark victory, she was inducted into the Asian Pokerstars team and is known now as Team Pokerstars Pro Vivian Im. She will be back this year to defend her title along with a large contingent of Australian and Asian hopefuls.

In order to play in one of the APPT events, all you need to do is win your way in via the online poker site Pokerstars. Satellites are running around the clock for all the major offline events that Pokerstars supports including the APPT Cebu event.
