THERE is no Black Caviar at Doomben this week but it is still a tasty program for racegoers with seven Group class events on the eight race card.

The was the lightly raced stallion’s first run in nearly six months and he is a Group 3 winner over 2018 metres in England.

2010 AJC Derby winner Shoot Out is expected to find plenty of improvement after three runs from a spell while highly promising Shootoff has won his last two in great style and tough old-timer Scenic Shot looks like he is getting back to his best.

Scenic Shot won the Doomben Cup in 2009 and also won the LKS Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington that year before having over a year off after starting odds-on favourite but missing a place in the CB Cox Stakes at Ascot in December.

He returned to the winner’s list in the Listed class Members Quality over 1600 metres at Eagle Farm on April 23, before doing his best work late when third behind the imported pair at the Gold Coast.
