Pokerstars APPT Cebu Announced
The Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) have just announced some exciting news for poker enthusiasts in the Asia Pacific region. The most popular stop on the season, the APPT Cebu will return once again in 2012 at the incredible Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu.
While things in Macau may be coming to a close for poker, the rest of the Asia Pacific region is certainly heating up. Season 5 of the APPT promises to be one of the biggest and best to date, with 5 scheduled stops including Melbourne's Crown casino, Queenstown, Soul, Macau and now Cebu.
The APPT Cebu event is scheduled to take place from April 25-30 and features a Main Event with a PHP 100,000 (Approximately $2,200 AUD) as well as a series of other events for those unlucky enough out in the main.

In 2010 Korean female player Young shin Im became the first female to win an APPT championship event after she bested 236 other players and won PHP 5.81M ($127,783 AUD) . Following her landmark victory, she was inducted into the Asian Pokerstars team and is known now as Team Pokerstars Pro Vivian Im. She will be back this year to defend her title along with a large contingent of Australian and Asian hopefuls.

QUALIFY ONLINE FOR THE AUSSIE MILLIONS MAIN EVENT
Qualify online for the Aussie Millions Main Event tonight via online poker site PokerStars. Randy 'nanonoko' Lew Wins APPT Macau Main Event
Randy Lew has won the 2011 APPT Macau Main event, his first major live event win of his career. Lew is best known in the online word where he plays online at PokerStars under the screen name 'nanonoko' and is one of the best multi-table players in the world.
The final table line up contained a veritable who's who of hot players, with recent APT Goa champion Sangeeth Mohan and recent Joe Hachem Deep Stack Series winner Jeff Rossiter vying for the championship.
The win represents the first major live tournament win for Randy Lew, and he takes home the trophy and HKD 3,772,000 (AUD$497,904) first place prize.

'Kallllle' Wins WCOOP Main Event and $1,260,018.50
The 2011 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) has finally come to an end with the $5,200 main event finishing earlier today. The pinnacle of the online series attracted an incredible 1,627 players creating a prize pool of $8,135,000, smashing the $5,000,000 that PokerStars put up as a guarantee.
In the end, it was a Danish player with the screen name 'Kallllle' that took first place honours along with the 1st place payout of $1,260,018.50. It was a European one two combo with 'Vojta_R' of the Czech Republic taking 2nd place in the main event and they took home a healthy $710,000 for their efforts. Not bad for two days work really!
This year's WCOOP was a smashing success for Pokerstars, they managed to meet ever single guarantee, most of them easily. Up until the final event, players from the UK were dominating the series, however when it was all said and done, the Russians laid claim to the greatest WCOOP they have ever had collecting an incredible 10 WCOOP titles.

RUSSIANS CLEANING UP AT WCOOP - $4,271,269.43 SO FAR
The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is approaching the final few events of the series. The WCOOP Main Event is the $5,200 NL Hold'em Main Event which features a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000,000 as well as $1,000,000 guaranteed for first place. The WCOOP is exclusive to online poker site Pokerstars and players have the chance to qualify for the WCOOP Main Event via satellite online at pokerstars for as little as $5 or 100 FPP's.
The 2011 WCOOP has seen some massive prize pools to date, with almost 50 players banking over $100,000 in cashes already. Sitting on top of the pile with the most money won this 2011 WCOOP is UK player Ashley "DYBYDX" Mason with $434, 424.65. The highest earning Aussie player so far to date in the WCOOP has been Jonathan "MONSTER_DONG" Karamalikis with $185,322.63 in cashes to date in the WCOOP.
When it comes to country statistics however, the Russians are simply cleaning up. To date in this year's WCOOP the Russians have won $4,271,269.43 in prize money. Second place is the Canadians with total cash won totalling $3,918,889.68. What is surprising about this figure is that since Pokerstars pulled out of the US market in April, a large portion of their online players relocated to Canada to play. This explains the high volume of cash won by Canadians these days. The Aussies sit in 7th place right above Brazil and Spain in regards to money won by country in this years WCOOP.

Dan 'djk123' Kelly Makes WCOOP History
As the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) rolls on, one player looking solidify his reputation as one of the worlds best was Dan 'djk123' Kelly. On Friday night, he took down WCOOP event 37 - $109 8 Game [10-Min Rounds] for a record-tying third WCOOP bracelet as well as $23,529 first place prize money.
Friday night was shaping up to be a big night for the WCOOP as Dan 'djk123' Kelly was also looking to reach the final table of WCOOP Event 35 $215+R NL Hold'em. In the end however, he fell just short of the final table having to be content with his 10th place finish collecting $6,596.48 for his efforts in that event.
As the WCCOP is winds into the final week of events, there is still many chances for player to collect life changing prize pools. So far to date Aussies have managed to collect 2 WCOOP titles as well as several final table appearances. You could be next. 'erickie' Win's WCOOP 19 For $163,324.15
As the 2011 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) rolls on to it's 2nd week of tournaments, the guarantee's offered by Pokerstars continue to be smashed. The smallest buy-in of the WCOOP series was WCOOP Event 19 - $109 NL Hold'em. This event had a prize pool guarantee of $800,000 yet managed to attract an incredible 11,741 entrants generating a massive prize pool of $1,174,100.00. With such a massive field and the event only scheduled for the one day's play, it was inevitable that a long day of play was ahead for those looking to take home a WCOOP bracelet.
After a gruelling 18 hours of play, the end result saw a relatively unknown Dutch player with the Poker Stars screen name of 'erickie' take down the title and the massive 1st place payout of $163,324.15. No doubt we will be seeing more of this player at the high limit tables over the coming days.
Aussie's had very little success over the last few WCCOP events with the only final table appearance by an Aussie coming in WCOOP Event 17 - $215 NL Single Draw 2-7 taking down 4th place for $5,070.00.

WCOOP Now Running - $30,000,000 Guaranteed
When it comes to online poker tournaments, PokerStars does is bigger and better than any other online poker site in the world. The biggest online tournament series of them all has just started, and that is the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP).
Taking place over the next three weeks, the 2011 WCOOP will feature 62 events and an incredible $30,000,000 in guaranteed prize-pool money. Running since 2002, the WCOOP has grown to become the biggest online tournament series in the world, and is the online equivalent to the World Series of Poker. Last years combined prize pool was an incredible $63,000,000, and while this year's prize pools are down due to the fact that Poker Stars are no longer accepting US based players, no one can argue with the value that these events provide.
Along with the WCOOP main events, PokerStars runs a massive WCOOP Satellite schedule alongside the main schedule as well. This huge feeder program means it couldn't be easier for players to qualify for any of the 62 events over the coming weeks. Satellites start from as little as 50 FPP's or $5.50 giving anyone a chance to play in any of the events.
