Before the start of the Premier League season, it would have been difficult for people who bet on EPL results to imagine that Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal would all be out of Champions League spots going into December. But after 12 weeks of play, three of England’s glamour teams are on the outside looking in. While there is a long way to go in the Premier League campaign, all three teams have plenty of work to do – and impressive teams to climb past – if they are going to book familiar spots in Europe’s biggest competition next season. This past weekend’s premier matchup for people gambling on EPL matches was the clash between Chelsea and Liverpool, with both teams in serious need of three points. The match was entertaining if somewhat sloppy, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of both sides. In particular, Chelsea’s backline was put into disarray time…

While it’s easy to draw too much from a single match result, Manchester City’s 6-1 thrashing of Manchester United on October 23 was a shock that set the Premier League on its head. Before that match, most people assumed that the Premier League campaign was a two-team race, but the comprehensive victory has left many fans wondering if Manchester City is head and shoulders above any competitors. People gambling on EPL futures have certainly taken notice, as Manchester City have been installed as the clear favourites to claim the Premier League title this season. But even though they have a five-point lead on Manchester United with almost a third of the season completed, it’s not time to hand them the trophy just yet. A slate of European matches combined with a gruelling stretch of games over the next few weeks could conspire to bring Manchester City back to the pack.…

The Aussie Socceroos have defeated Malaysia 5-0 in their friendly international at Canberra Stadium last night. The win sets up the Aussies for next weeks World Cup Qualifier against Oman on Tuesday at Sydney's ANZ Stadium. Luke Wilkshire opened the Aussie's account within the first 2 minutes after Rhys Williams sent a square pass into the middle after a strong run from full back. Malaysia were quick to respond when Safee Sali drove  a low cross-shot across the face of the Aussie's goal however Federici was able to hold off the visitors advances. For the remainder of the match, the Aussie dominated possession, and in the 33rd minute Josh Kennedy would open his account with a lightning bolt volley that found the back of the net. Only 10 minutes later, Kennedy would lock in his second for the match after a brilliant Williams cross enabled him to easily volley it…

Arsenal manager Arsene Wegner might have been celebrating his 15th year leading his side on Sunday, but the results of his team’s north London derby against Tottenham left little to cheer about. Spurs were able to use a long-range shot from Kyle Walker midway through the second half to claim a 2-1 victory and keep Arsenal reeling at the bottom of the Premier League table. The Gunners now have just seven points from seven Premier League matches, a stunning early-season result for a team earmarked for possible championship glory by those who bet on Premier League futures before the season started. Arsenal have slipped from one of the “Big Four” to a 50/1 shot to win the Premier League; in fact, people gambling on EPL action might be better served to take Arsenal as a 100/1 shot to be relegated at the end of the season. While it might seem…

People who bet on Premier League matches know that European club competitions can have a huge impact on what happens domestically. This week’s UEFA Champions League action has already proven this to be the case, as Manchester City left Germany in turmoil after their mid-week match. Not only were the Blues handled 2-0 in a shockingly easy win for Bayern Munich, the fallout from the loss might mean the loss of one of their biggest stars. Manchester City suspended Carlos Tevez for two weeks while it investigates allegations by manager Roberto Mancini that the volatile Argentine refused to come off the bench as a second-half substitute.   Mancini has insisted that Tevez is “finished” with the Premier League, proof that Manchester City might have been wise to heed Tevez’s transfer requests before the season started. Not having Tevez available might not be enough to undermine Manchester City’s chances this season,…

Just when it looked like Manchester United might run away with the Premier League title, things have suddenly become much tighter at the top of the table. The Red Devils suffered their first setback of the season on Saturday night, as a scrappy Stoke side was able to hold them to a 1-1 draw. It looked like it would be business as usual for Manchester United and their fans on bet on EPL games after Nani scored midway through the first half. However, Stoke kept up with Manchester United in a back-and-forth contest and were rewarded when Peter Crouch scored a signature header to claim his first goal in a Stoke uniform and earn his side a deserved point. The result was just what the rest of the Premier League wanted to see, as it showed that Manchester United might not be invincible. The minor setback was all that Manchester…

Manchester City Gain Full Points Over Everton Manchester City took full points from their encounter against Everton at Etihad Stadium. An unconvincing City managed all 3 points over a resilient Everton after a deflected shot from Mario Balotelli found the back net in the second half. A James Milner goal just before second half stoppage time secured the win for City Boss Mancini's men. However the game was very unconvincing from City's point of view with Yaya Toure and new recruit Samir Nasri failing to impact the result. Everton keeper Tim Howard did make a few timely saves in the game but Mancini's men did finally convert few chances. James Milners late goal was his first for Manchester City in the Premier League since joining before the 2010/2011 season. Manchester City now travel to Munich mid week to face Bayern Munich in first away trip of their Champions League title…

It had to happen at some point - the Big Two sides from Manchester couldn’t win forever. But while Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Fulham on Sunday shouldn’t have been shocking, the nature of how it came about might be. After Sergio Aguero scored just seconds into the second half, the Blues took what appeared to be a commanding 2-0 lead. But then Fulham was able to surge in the second half, as their home fans were able to urge the Cottagers to a pair of second-half goals and a surprising point against one of the hottest teams in football. But Fulham’s performance shouldn’t have been a shock to people used to gambling on EPL matches. After all, Fulham has a history of performing well against the top clubs, including a 1-1 draw against Manchester City last season. With Fulham at home and in need of points, it was a perfect…
