Round 11 Captain Choices
Round 11 Captain Choices
Jobe Watson - If he plays, which sources say that he will, he will dominate Melbournes midfield and lack of tagging players. However coming of an injury he is still a gamble.
Joel Selwood - Playing the dogggies down at sleepy hollow. This can only mean big points for Selwood, expect a 120+ score from him.
Paul Chapman - Expect 100+ but still a gamble with Chapy.
Stevie Johnson - Coming off a massive score vs the Suns Stevie J will have massive confidence playing agains the doggies depleted backline. If i had Stevie J i would seriously consider a gamble captain choice here.
Dean Cox - Eagles vs Suns enough said.
Scott Pendlebury - Having a stellar season and all coaches who have pendles will have relished in his good form and massive scores. This year alone i have captained him 6 out of 10 rounds.
Buddy Franklin - Buddy at the G vs freo's depleted backline. Its a recipe for success thats if he can stop giving away cheap frees.
Chris Judd - Judd always tears it up vs the power. He has 3 150+ point games in the last 4 matches against the power.

Round 11 Injury and Trade Update
Round 11 Injury and Trade Update
Injuries -
Out
Barry Hall came back from a spell only to be sidelined again the official call on his ankle is test, which means anything from a couple of weeks to be being available to play. Chance Bateman from the hawks will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks with an ankle injury. Taylor Walker is set to miss a few with a knee injury. Brendan Goddards horific head injury on the weekend would weaken even the toughest of stomachs, seeing him convulse on the ground is never nice to see but Goddard has stated that he will be right to play, we will see.... Jeremy Laidler will miss 2-3 with a knee while Jordan Russel will probably be right to play after hamstring tightness.
IN
Robbie Warnock could come back into Carltons lineup after recovering from concussion. Kane Lucas may also be a starter for the blues. Leigh Brown may be in the mix for the magpies. The jury is still out on Michael Hurley and Jobe Watson. Ellis, Hale and Renouf may create selection problems for the Hawks this week. Melbourne will get Jack Trengove back from suspension aswell as Tom Scully. Ryan Hargrave should come straight back in for the suffering dogs.
Trades -
In
Tendai Mzungu (Mid/Fwd $110,200) He has played his 2 games and scored nicely on the weekend. He is set to go up in price and continue this way for some time. He is essential at this time of the year.
Cameron Pederson (Def $109,700) My spies tell me he is playing this week but there is no evidence he will keep his side in the rotating door of a side at the Roos. However his price should rise considerably.
Issac Smith (Mid/Fwd $103,700) Reported to be playing on the weekend but like Pederson there is not much job security. Expect a healthy price rise.
Others i would consider include Luke Delaney from North and Michael Evans from Melbourne.
Out
Like always check your cash cows and what their respective break evens are going to be. As i said for the last couple of weeks it is important to decide now wether you are going to keep for the rest of the season or make money off.
Get rid of:
Jack Darling
Reece Conca
Brendan Matera
Tom Liberatore
Daniel Harris
Some good buys are Alan Didak, Greg Broughton, Luke Hodge and Dane Swan (if he proves fit).
Good luck and i will do a captain choices article of friday.

Round 10 Injury, Trade and Captain Choices
Injuries Ins and Outs
Out -
Andy Otten is expected to have another week in the 2's. Brisbane hard man Tom Rockliff is expected to be out for at least 1 week with an Achilles injury. The villain for the Blues game against Geelong, Robbie Warnock has been ruled out from playing against the dees due to delayed concussion. Darren Jolly will still miss another to that pesky knee problem which is starting to look like a long term injury if they do not go in for surgery soon. The big spud Leigh Brown may also miss with an Achilles problem. The biggest news is the Freo big man Aaron Sandilands will miss a minimum of 3 weeks. More troubles for the injured demons with youngster Luke Tapscott sidelined with a hamstring problem. Richmond rookie Dylan Grimes will be ruled out with a hamstring problem. Injury magnet Shaun Higgins may miss this week as well.
Ins -
Adelaide may have selection headaches this week with Jared Petrenko, Myke Cook, Brad Symes, Brad Moran and Brodie Martin all in contention. Lachie Henderson may be included into the blues lineup as he shined for VFL team Northern Bullants. Ben Johnson and Alan Toovey could be in the mix for a call back after proving fitness. There will be a few players available for the Suns after their week off including Josh Fraser, Charlie Dixon, Harley Bennel, Mav Weller and Dion Prestia. Big man Brent Renouf should be available for the Hawks. Both Cameron Pederson and Cameron Richardson impressed for the kangaroos reserves. Marlon Motlop, Jacob Surjan and Cameron Hitchcock could make their way back for the Power. Adam Cooney should slot straight back into the Bulldogs starting 22.
Trades Ins and Outs
Out -
Obviously trade out Luke Tapscott (injured)
Jackson Trengove ($310,400) breakeven of 73
Andrew Krakouer (326,300) breakeven of 62
Shaun Higgins
Ins -
Gary Ablett looks like he will start to hit break evens and is worth picking up now if you have the cash.
If you were silly and got rid of Goddard, Montagna or Riewoldt its your own fault.
Tom Lynch ($138,600) Gold Coast Suns (fwd)
Captain Choices -
Joel Selwood
Dane Swan
Matthew Boyd
Chris Judd
Scott Pedlebury
These 5 are the obvious however i think a good gamble this week will be on Buddy Franklin vs The Bulldogs backline.
Tip of the week:
DO NOT TRADE OUT Aaron Sandilands, he is too valuable to waste trades on.
Good luck and keep kicking

Round 9 Injury and Trade Update
This week will see some major super coach returns and some interesting outs.
Injuries - Ins and Outs
IN
Andy Otten could possibly make a come back which will please many coaches that have held on to him hoping for big things. Fremantle goal sneak Hayden Ballantyne could find his way back into the side which could look at recovering rookie Tendai Mzungu to make his debut. Gold Coast's Charlie Dixon could make his way back into the side, after struggling early in the season many coaches will be expecting big things out of this solid forward. Hawthorn have been playing down Cyril Rioli's hamstring injury but he could find his way back into the side. Richmond's Shane Tuck could boost any side with his return this week. Daniel Kerr and Andrew Embley were late outs for West Coast last week but reports say that both injuries are minor and both could be back this week. Finally something might go right for the bulldogs who might have Tom Williams, Barry Hall and injury magnet Shaun Higgins back into the mix this week.
OUT
The biggest out this week will be Jobe Watson, the Essendon captain has had a stellar start to the season but many coaches will be upset with his injury. Also to add to Essendon's injury woes is Michael Hurley who was selected by many teams, his injury diagnoses is still not clear. Stephen Gilham and David Hale are big outs for the Hawks and for coaches across the nation.
Trades
At this time of the season it is always hard to find a lot of cash cows. Many cash cows that started round 1 are now heading to their break evens and coaches are now looking at 1 and 2 gamers to find the next cash cows.
Trade In
Michael Hibberd $103,600 (mid/def) 2 games and ready to rise in price
Paul Puopolo $103,600 (def) 2 games and looks like he will stay in for the injured Gilham
Ben Jacobs $113,600 (mid/def) 1st game and scored 38 but Port have big hopes on this youngster
Andrew Moore $171,700 (fwd/def) 1st round draft pick and 1st game last week but could be a good get.
Isaac Smith $103,600 (fwd/mid) looks set to keep his place with all the injury concearns at Hawthorn 2 games at an ave of 79.5
Simon Phillips $110,200 (mid) 2 games at ave of 40.5
Luke Bruest $103,600 Punky looked good last week and could be a great cash cow
Arryn Siposs $103,600 kicked 99 goals for Beaconsfield last year, looks permanent in Saints forward line
Trade Out
Dyson Heppell - is an interesting one, many coaches will be thinking he could be a permanent for the rest of the season. However his break even is now at 74 and could go higher in the next few weeks.
Nick Lower - also in the same category as Heppell, he could be used all year as your emergency but his break even is now at 62.
Shaun Atley - Break even 55. Trade out!
Stewart Crameri - If your not considering holding him all season get rid of him this week.
Shaun McKernan - Its time pull the trigger and get rid of him
Good Luck coaches and remember DO NOT trade till friday!

Super Oates - SuperCoach Round 8 Review

Round 8 UpdateGeelong Vs Collingwood
What an epic start to the round with this blockbuster game. Many coaches would of been sweating this game as many would do the obvious captain choices of either Swan or Pendlebury. Also many coaches would have been interested to see how Heath Shaw went as many coaches would have sideways traded the injured Jack Grimes from Melbourne to Shaw. 2 Major injuries came out of the game that you would think wouldn't hurt many SuperCoach sides with Geelong captain Cameron Ling being subbed off with a shoulder problem and Collingwood veteran Alan Toovey being either heroic or stupid, coming off with blood pouring out of his face. Collingwood's Simon Buckley finally got another game which would see his price soar, which would make many coaches happy.
Joel Selwood - 153
Heath Shaw - 149
Stevie Johnson - 136
Dale Thomas - 127
Scott Pendlebury - 109
Dane Swan - 98
Jimmy Bartel - 102
North Melbourne vs Melbourne
After Melbourne's crushing win over Adelaide last week this game was supposed to be a formality. However big outs for Melbourne would weaken the side and a blow for many coaches. Mark Jamar looks sidelined for up to 4 weeks and Trengove missing due to being too hard of a tackler. Coaches would be watching Colin Sylvia coming off a massive score last week to see if he can back it up. Aaron Edwards came off a 10 goal haul in the VFL to kick 6.
Daniel Wells - 175
Todd Goldstein - 158
Stefan Martin - 125
Aaron Edwards - 122
Colin Sylvia - 114
Brent Harvey - 95
Adelaide vs Gold Coast
This was always going to be an interesting game, Adelaide coming off a bad loss and the Suns full of confidence. It was Gary Ablett's birthday and he turned it on from the opening bounce finishing with 41 touches and 4 goals. As per the usual this year many coaches would be hoping that their Suns rookies played well and would see their price rise.
Gary Ablett - 198
Patrick Dangerfield - 138
Scott Thompson - 136
Nathan Van Berlo - 129
Zac Smith - 92
Brisbane vs Essendon
If anybody had Jobe Watson in their team he surely would be a lock as captain choice and this decision would prove costly as the Essendon captain would eventually be subbed off with a hamstring problem. Michael Hurley was a late out with a calf problem replaced by Michael Hibberd.
David Zaharakis - 138
Tom Rockliff - 133
Jed Adcock - 94
Jobe Watson - 88
Sydney vs Port Adelaide
Sydney were going in hot favorites and didn't disappoint running riot over the power. It would be understandable if many coaches were sweating this game as like myself they had chosen either Ryan O'keefe or Adam Goodes as captain, the later was my captain of choice. Young Power midfielder Hamish Hartlett has been under my microscope for many weeks seeing if he will be the next big thing to come out of a depleted power lineup.
Jude Bolton - 146
Troy Chaplin - 143
Josh P Kennedy - 140
Adam Goodes - 124
Ryan O'Keefe - 118
Hawthorn vs St.Kilda
This game was always destined to be a huge game, to see if the Saints can actually play and to see if the Hawks are actually a premiership contender. Many coaches were interested to see if Riewolldt and Goddard could find some form and how super star Hawk Luke Hodge could get some form. With 2 injuries early for the Hawks with Hail and Gilham going down. Jarryd Roughead and Buddy Franklin were rotated through the ruck which most Super coaches would have been happy with. Hawk youngsters Shane Savage and Matt Suckling continuing their great form while Sam Fisher was the only standout for the Saints.
Sam Fisher - 156
Shane Savage - 136
Brent Guerra - 136
Matt Suckling - 124
Jarryd Roughead - 126
Luke Hodge - 121
Buddy Franklin - 122
Bulldogs vs Richmond
It has been an interesting year for all Super Coaches following Richmond players with the ups and downs of a scary roller coaster. The Bulldogs standards all performed as they have for the last 4 years. Missing again for the doggies was injury magnet Shaun Higgins. An all time favorite with coaches Lindsey Gilbee kicked his way back into the mix with 6 goals from 16 touches. Doggies youngster Tom Liberatore continued his maiden year form which would make a lot of coaches happy. Richmond first round draft pick Reece Conca continued to get better and Robin Nahas continued his good form and matching price rise.
Lindsay Gilbee - 153
Matthew Boyd - 123
Will Minson - 121
Tom Liberatore - 117
Brett Deledio - 101
West Coast vs Fremantle
The western derby is always a great game and this week was no different but for many coaches this was the make or break game for the round. So many SuperCoach regulars lined up in this game including big men Dean Cox and Aaron Sandilands. Others included Nate Fyfe, Matthew Pavlich, Greg Broughton, Jack Darling and Nick Lower. Matt Priddis and David Mundy are showing why they should be in contention for every coaches midfield's.
Matt Priddis - 126
Quinten Lynch - 125
Nate Fyfe - 121
David Mundy - 119
Aaron Sandilands - 110
Dean Cox - 103
Matthew Pavlich - 109
Later in the week I will go over trade options and captain choices for round 9
Tip of the week: Dont trade till Friday!
Good Luck Oates
